8th Grade
Canon Human Services
Brown Scapular ProgramThe eighth graders provide a Merry Christmas and a Happy Easter celebration for the 45 men in the residential center here in the community of Watts. They raise funds, get gift packages and home made blankets together, and deliver them to the program just before the holidays. The class also provides monthly treats for older people in Watts Senior Citizen Center and the seniors who attend Bingo in the Parish Hall at St. Lawrence of Brindisi.
7th Grade
Shelter for Women Victims of Abuse and Neglect in Long Beach
The seventh graders collect health products for women and children living in a private shelter in the Long Beach area. The project is completed in conjunction with the Journey with Jesus Program, which complements our religion program.
5th Grade
Hats Day
Fifth graders are in charge of coordinating a Hat Day event to support families with children battling cancer. All students pay a dollar to wear a hat during school hours and remember those who are on chemotherapy. There is also a Mass to pray for children who are sick and give thanks for those who are healthy.
2nd and 4th Grade
Cesar Chavez Day
Cesar Chavez Day is celebrated in a special way by the 2nd and 4th grade. After a School Mass in late March, classes meet, and make sandwiches for the food pantry at St. Lawrence of Brindisi.These sandwiches are distributed later that day. This is a learning experience for students who participate in this annual event!
TK, Kinder and 6th Grade
Watts Senior Citizen Christmas Program
Students spread some Christmas cheer to our senior citizens at the Watts Senior Citizen Center. The children prepare songs that they sing and dance for the seniors. Students also make Christmas ornaments in their classroom and take them to the performance. They give those hand made ornaments to the seniors.
1st Grade
Thanksgiving Food Drive
For several days students promote and coordinate a food drive to replenish our Parish pantry in preparation for Thanksgiving, the collected food is then offered to the Church in our Thanksgiving Mass.

Pennies for PatientsBoth are great causes in which the whole school participates and raises funds. Students thoroughly enjoy both events and our school community is proud of the success of our students.

Octavo grado
Servicios Humanos de Canon
Programa Escapulario Marrón
Los alumnos de octavo grado ofrecen una Feliz Navidad y una Feliz celebración de Pascua para los 45 hombres en el centro residencial aquí en la comunidad de Watts. Recaudan fondos, obtienen paquetes de regalo y mantas caseras juntas, y los entregan al programa justo antes de las vacaciones. La clase también ofrece obsequios mensuales para personas mayores en el Centro de Ciudadanos de Tercera Edad de Watts y las personas mayores que asisten al Bingo en el Salón Parroquial de San Lorenzo de Brindisi.
Séptimo grado
Refugio para mujeres víctimas de abuso y negligencia en Long Beach
Los alumnos de séptimo grado recolectan productos de salud para mujeres y niños que viven en un refugio privado en el área de Long Beach. El proyecto se completa en conjunto con el Programa Viaje con Jesús, que complementa nuestro programa de religión.
5to grado
Dia de los sombreros
Los estudiantes de quinto grado están a cargo de coordinar un evento del Día del Sombrero para apoyar a las familias con niños que luchan contra el cáncer. Todos los estudiantes pagan un dólar por usar un sombrero durante el horario escolar y recuerdan a aquellos que reciben quimioterapia. También hay una misa para rezar por los niños que están enfermos y dar gracias por los que están sanos.
2do y 4to grado
Día de Cesar Chavez
El Día de César Chávez se celebra de manera especial en los grados 2 y 4. Después de una misa escolar a fines de marzo, las clases se reúnen y hacen sándwiches para la despensa de alimentos en San Lorenzo de Brindisi. Estos sándwiches se distribuyen más tarde ese día. ¡Esta es una experiencia de aprendizaje para los estudiantes que participan en este evento anual!
